Two simple reactions but two very different mindsets.
The last few months, I have been having back to back "No way!" moments. No way because it's amazing; no way because I'm in a bit of disbelief; no way because it is not what I can control.
No way moment #1: Searching for a violin teacher for Makayla and came across some highly regarded teachers. But God gave me a reco for a teacher who is close by, who charges reasonably, and an active Christian! I knew she's it.
No way moment #2: Then Hazel suddenly decided to do drums. So I just went to L&M to see what they offer. They gave me two names. I walked to the side in the store and did a quick online stalking. The store highly recommended teacher A; as for teacher B - the only comment was "he's new". The choice seemed obvious. However, I found out that this teacher B is a Christian who plays drums regularly in church. More importantly, he is pretty vocal in the social media with his confession of his belief. Only a few days before, something triggered me to look up something around near death experience. And here I came across his testimony talking about his near death experience, just a day later. No way!!
Side note: I didn't think about the teacher being Christian that much initially but when the option was there, I immediately knew the pick. I want my kids to be introduced to music not only by someone who loves music, but appreciates its connection with God. This someone is not only a teacher. This someone is a mentor for my kids.
No way moment #3: Had a minor car accident recently. Never ran into a car accident that needed to deal with the insurance folks. So my first time came, and God sent me the angel of a witness who was right behind me at the time. That made the whole settlement process so much smoother.
No way moment #4: Then when I had my car back from the repair, my two minor unrelated damages to the same side of the car were fixed as well. No way!!
No way moment #5: New director came on board, and it's logical to discuss my role which should support him part of my time. He had a different idea of my title - which led to a natural conversation of a promotion. This is still underway. But how would I have thought such circumstance would have created such a natural case for promotion? Both Ivan & my jobs have been going really well, despite the economy crisis in Calgary.
No way moment #6: Chary left and we decided to give away the two beds downstairs as well. When she came and pick up the beds with her friends, Hazel's phone that disappeared for almost a year resurfaced!!
No way moment #7: With the new life without a nanny, I was going to split cooking with Ivan's mom. But as it turns out, she's doing all the cooking, I'm doing the rest, and prepping for the kids' lunches. It's been going amazingly well. :)
No way moment #8: I got an email from H's teacher yesterday and I curiously looked through the email addresses of other parents and noticed one that belongs to a church. What I have discovered is one of her new good friend is actually a pastor kid and the family is leading this church in the North that has an awesome youth outreach program. I ask God - is that a lead?????????????
No way moment #9: Had Hazel's drum teacher come tune H's new (used) drum set tonight and we had a pretty good conversation about God and other religions, and how we feel sad for people's need for God. I have had the most spiritual conversation with him than with anyone else (other than Ivan) in a long while.
No way moment #10: Our cruise trip with the family turned out to be one of the most amazing. The trip design wasn't the best, but we were able to watch the final week of the Olympics day in day out, under the sun, dipped in the pool or hot tub, looking at the xxxx sq in big screen TV!
You may ask - why not? Because I believe God is actively intervening and dropping blessings in my life. I have no way but acknowledge and be extremely thankful for His blessings. I could go away and take everyday's every little thing for granted. But No way!! :)
